Post-election ramblings
So first of all, I don’t want to talk about the election result itself - what’s happened has happened and there’s no point anyone getting upset at it. However, the atmosphere surrounding it has been electrifying, and one thing I think people value more than ever now is freedom of speech. In that spirit, I have a few diatribes (Hopefully with a point to them!) for those still...
Good news people - the Tories now CANNOT WIN THE ELECTION. Their seat count stands at 291, meaning that even if they win in all 33 of the remaining constituencies to announce their results they will fall two seats short of a clear win. A Lib/Lab coalition would, however, at present not meet the overall majority mark unless they get at least 27 of the remaining seats. Looks like we’re...

How fucking dare Fathers For Justice storm Steve Davis’ interview after having got into the Quarter Final of the World Championship?!
Very well handled by everyone there, but even so… One of the all-time snooker greats, a fantastic moment for him and those bastards ruined it for him.
For goodness’ sake, this guy is responsible for most of today’s snooker players - even...
So why does no-one seem to sit cross-legged anymore? Seriously, wherever you are right now, try it. It’s awesome.

ROMEO
[To JULIET] If I profane with my unworthiest hand This holy shrine, the gentle fine is this: My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.
JULIET
Good pilgrim, you do wrong your hand too much, Which mannerly devotion shows in this; For saints have hands that pilgrims’ hands do touch, And palm to palm is holy palmers’ kiss.

Good morning blogosphere - as I type to you I’m sitting in my studio, waiting for business hours so I can go down to the bank before bedtime. These reversed sleep cycles are cool from time to time, but getting stuff done can be a challenge!
It’s been an interesting week for me in many ways - I had an doctor’s appointment on Tuesday for my one-month medication review for my...

I’ve just heard on the radio that the Church has decided to back proposals to abolish the ban on same-sex marriage in religious buildings. A major step for equality, I’m sure you will agree.
Good evening blogosphere. Wow, it’s been a while hasn’t it? I’ve had a lot going on, and have been waiting for some sort of resolution before posting my progress on here. Call me odd, but there you are…
So, as some of you know, I left Wobbly Bob recently, and happily they’re straight back up on their feet. My official reason for this was due to other commitments, but...

So Tumblarity has disappeared. Ah well, I never did understand what it actually meant…
“naturally the common people don’t want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag people along whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do...

The Westboro Baptist Church is actually a very small sect, which believes that basically God hates everyone but them. Apparently they’ve never actually read their Bibles.

Yes, I know there are many religious factions out there at the minute, and a lot of Fundamentalist Christians. With the recent information about a possible death penalty for homosexuals in Uganda, and the link...

The Divine Comedy - If
If you were the road I’d go all the way If you were the night I’d sleep in the day If you were the day I’d cry in the night ‘Cause you are the way The truth and the light If you were a tree I could put my arms around you And you could not complain If you were a tree I could carve my name into your side And you would not cry, ‘Cos trees...

Wait, what?
The Question Time 'debate'.
So I’m sure there are many readers on here who’ve seen Question Time on BBC1 - it’s bound to be a hot topic in the media tomorrow, so I thought it’s best that I get out what I think now, before it’s been coloured by the increasingly biased coverage that has plagued this debate.
Through no point of the ‘debate’ was Nick Griffin allowed to complete any...

I always think about how you must have to be very good friends with someone to use one together. Not just because of the trust issue, but also because of how close your hands have to be to their butt.
So we’re getting into Winter again, and yet again the Apple Tablet rumours emerge. Now, it’s not as if I want to naysay the idea that Apple will release one - it’s a huge potential market, and I’m sure that eventually they’ll release something like what we expect. What I do find a little on the objectionable side is the amount of press coverage this has been...

New technology
OK, so some of you might be expecting me to do a blog about new Apple products or suchlike - on this occasion far from it. Be warned: some readers might find the content and links contained in this blog upsetting.
There have been some amazing developments in robotics recently - we can now buy, for a few hundred pounds, humanoid miniature robots for our amusement; we have car production lines...
Well, quite an interesting week this week, to be sure. Wobbly Bob rehearsal Wednesday, gig with THE MOTHERFUCKING TOASTERS Thursday, a brilliant evening with Tom and Jay remixing a certain track my Mr. Tom Jones (The Sex Bomb That Blew Up Alderaan) on Friday, followed by a frankly awful night’s sleep, thanks to me being too stoopid to put sofa cushions on the floor instead of trying to curl...
Billy Joel - And So It Goes
In every heart there is a room
A sanctuary safe and strong
To heal the wounds of lovers past
Until a new one comes along
I spoke to you in cautious tones
You answered me with no pretense
And still I feel I said too much
My silence is my self defence
And every time I’ve held a rose
It seems I only felt the thorns
And so it goes, and so it goes
And so will you soon I suppose
But if my...

Thanks to Taya for linking this on facebook. What a hoot! Still, on a legal technicality I suppose the guy’s right. After all, Tesco don’t insist on the removal of Muslim women’s garb (and neither should they) and that is very much optional, so why should this be different, despite its being a religion based solely around an work of fiction. Scientology, anyone?

On a side note, I think I may be addicted to facebook - when I saw a note on the kitchen cupboard from Cinders, my first thought was to ‘Like’ it.

Well, what a day! I woke up at 8:50am. What a horrendous time to be awake! Still, after picking up Jay and a short drive we were at our Leeds Youth Opera rehearsal - a regular fixture for us nowadays.
The reheasal finished at 12:15, so then it was back to Huddersfield, pausing only to change into a different top before heading down to Jay’s to complete the mixing on the Olive Branch tracks...
To anyone who has a Line 6 PodXT and a mac running Snow Leopard, DO NOT TRY TO INSTALL THE LINE 6 AUDIO DRIVER (line6audio.kext). It panics your kernel on install and every reboot. Luckily I still have a Leopard partition so was able to get rid of the offending kext.

Night, blogosphere!
So I just finished watching BBC’s Watchdog, with a feature on one Adrian Pengelly. Those of you who haven’t seen the episode, it’s quite a good one so go on and watch it. I’ll wait here for you…
Good wasn’t it? For the benefit of those of you who don’t have time to watch an hour of people whinging about mostly relatively minor qualms with their...
It’s just struck me that some of you might not know I’ve moved house! It’s a gorgeous place set back from the road in Dalton, with a courtyard and patio and pen for the dog and it’s just amazing. The landlord lives in the same complex of buildings, which would normally bother me, but he’s so lovely that I quite like it! Example - we needed an extra fridge as I need...
